What this site does
Exmouth Daily is an independent local information guide. This version has no visitor accounts, contact forms, comments, payments or newsletter. We have not added advertising or visitor analytics. The operator has not published a name or contact email.
Your saved spots
Choosing “Save this spot” or “Save Hangtime” stores a preference in this browser using local storage. These preferences are not sent to us and do not follow you between devices. They remain until you remove them or clear your browser’s site data. The site itself does not set cookies; hosting services may have their own storage or security behaviour.
Services your browser contacts
Pages and font files are served through ChatGPT Sites hosting. Hosting providers receive connection information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and protect the service. We do not control their log retention. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.
Weather is requested directly from Open-Meteo. Its service receives your IP address and technical request information. The request uses fixed Exmouth coordinates, not your device’s location; this site never asks for location permission. See Open-Meteo’s terms and privacy information.
Fonts are hosted with this site, so opening a page does not request fonts from Google. External links open other organisations’ websites, where their own privacy practices apply.
Where the information comes from
- Weather: Open-Meteo model forecasts, under CC BY 4.0. Values are rounded for display and used to suggest a walking hour. The three-day outlook shows tomorrow and the following two days, including forecast high/low temperatures, maximum rain probability and maximum wind. Fetched on opening, returning to the page, using Refresh, and every 15 minutes while visible. Forecasts are not beach observations.
- Tides: a dated table from Devon Tides, based on Exmouth Dock. The embedded predictions cover 23 October 2026 only and stop displaying after that date. Use the source for current times. Not for navigation.
- Pollution: links to South West Water and the Environment Agency. No automatic pollution feed is connected.
- Events: selected listings from Visit Exmouth and venues including Blackmore Theatre, checked on the date shown. Past dates hide automatically, but additions, cancellations and changes are not automatically imported. Check the linked organiser before booking or travelling.
- Beach guidance: linked RNLI, council and visitor information. Signs, flags and instructions at the beach take precedence.
Swimming and planning
We cannot confirm that swimming is safe. Missing alerts or an annual water-quality rating do not establish current safety. Walking suggestions consider forecast rain and wind only, not tides, currents, water quality, access or lifeguard cover. In a coastal emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
